Tokyo - Japanese electronics maker Toshiba plans to put HD DVD drives in all of its laptops next year, Reuters reported on Tuesday. "The demand is there: people want to watch their favorite movies in high-definition on the road," Toshiba senior vice president Hisatsugu Nonaka said at a news conference. Toshiba shipped 9.2 million notebook PCs in 2006, while Sony, which bundles its rival Blu-ray Disc technology in the PlayStation 3, sold 3.6 million of the game consoles in the past year.
