New York - Blip.tv, a video-sharing site focused on independently produced videos, announced on Tuesday that it has raised an undisclosed sum in its second round of venture capital financing, led by Ambient Sound Investments, the fund established by Skype's founders.

Other participants in the round included Lauder Partners and individual investors Jeffrey Sechrest, Andrew Rasiej, Jonathan Kopp and Ken Sawyer.

Founded in 2005, New York-based Blip.tv splits ad revenue with creators of videos posted to its site, which range from scripted comedies and dramas to newsmagazines and reality shows.

Sponsors including Dewars and Dove have advertised on Blip.tv programs such as "Wallstrip," "Jetset" and "Goodnight Burbank."

The company will use the funds to expand sales, content management and programming, talent relations and technology development.
