New York - CBS Corporation has made an undisclosed investment in TicketReserve, an online marketplace where users can purchase tickets to live events.

Founded in 2001, Chicago-based TicketReserve allows users to purchase reservations for a specific team, artist or event, which guarantees them the right to buy tickets at face value.

The "FanForward" reservations may then be bought and sold on the service, or used to buy a face-value ticket should the selected event come to pass.

The deal will give CBS SportsLine, CBS Sports, CSTV, CBS Radio and CBS Interactive a larger presence in the live event market.

"TicketReserve allows us to connect with our audience in yet another way, while offering leagues the potential of an exciting new revenue stream," said Joe Ianniello, senior vice president and chief development officer at CBS.

"And going forward, we believe that TicketReserve can integrate with our non-sports programming as well.
