New York - MeetMoi, a location-based mobile dating service, has raised $1.5 million in new financing from Acadia Woods Partners, TechCrunch reported.

Launched in February, New York-based MeetMoi's service lets users create mobile profiles, which are sent via SMS to other users who fit personalized search criteria, who may then reply with a text message if interested.

The company's service, which is not GPS-enabled, is currently available to Cingular, Nextel, Boost Mobile, Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltel and CellularOne subscribers.
