Cisco Invests in P2P Content Delivery Technology Firm Oversi

Petach Tikva, Israel - Oversi, a developer of peer-to-peer caching and content delivery technologies, announced that it has received an investment from Cisco as part of an extended $8 million second round of funding.

The round was led by Carmel Ventures, and also included participation from StageOne Ventures and TempoPark Fund.

Founded in 2004, Israel-based Oversi has developed technology that provides additional bandwidth to providers of services such as P2P-based video-on-demand and television services.

The company will use the funds for product development, and expansion of the company's sales and distribution channels.
