MP3 Player Maker Creative Technology to Delist From Nasdaq

Singapore - Consumer electronics firm Creative Technology, which manufactures the Zen line of MP3 players, on Thursday announced plans to voluntarily delist its shares from the Nasdaq.

The company said it will maintain its primary listing on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited.

Creative's first public offering on the Nasdaq in 1992 was followed by a listing on the Singapore exchange in 1994.

The company cited low trading volume on the Nasdaq compared with Singapore; a trend that has seen its shares move from Nasdaq to Singapore exchange; and the costs of maintaining dual listings for the decision.

"The administrative overhead and cost of the evolving and increasingly burdensome U.S. reporting obligations has become significant, especially for Creative, a Singapore company with dual primary listings -- particularly in relation to the limited benefit that Creative believes it presently derives from its Nasdaq listing," the company said in a statement.
