Culver City, Calif. - Sony Pictures Television International has announced plans to launch Animax, its Japanese anime channel, in a version for mobile phones in Canada and Australia. The Animax Mobile channel, which launched this week with Australia's 3 mobile and is set to launch in Canada on Bell Mobility in July, will offer a two-hour loop of four full-length anime series: "Blood+," "Last Exile," "ROD the TV" and "The Count of Monte Cristo." The channel will also feature interstitial material, mobile trivia and Animax graphics downloads.
