New York - Viacom's Nickelodeon children's TV network announced this week that it has partnered with Sony Music Label Group to jointly finance and produce TV and music projects over the next four years.

The deal will include the development of projects like TV series and original movies to air on Nickelodeon, and multiple album releases.

The first project under the deal will be a soundtrack album release for Nickelodeon's "The Naked Brothers Band" TV series in the fall.

"This new deal connects Sony's peerless expertise in music to what we at Nickelodeon know about kids," said Cyma Zarghami, president of Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group.

"From the Dora the Explorer soundtrack going gold, to The Naked Brothers Band success, and Kids' Choice Awards serving as a great platform for talent, music is an important part of our brand because it's vital to kids."
