Cupertino, Calif. - Apple said on Monday that its forthcoming iPhone will deliver up to 8 hours of talk time -- up from an earlier estimate of 5 hours -- or 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback, or 24 hours of audio playback.

Apple also announced that it has upgraded the material it will use for the iPhone's 3.5-inch display from plastic to optical-quality glass, to improve scratch resistance and optical clarity.

"With 8 hours of talk time, and 24 hours of audio playback, iPhone's battery life is longer than any other 'Smartphone' and even longer than most MP3 players," said Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

The iPhone is slated for release on June 29.

apple battery

I tested this camera for a client. I didn’t have the light running for more than 15 minutes. The battery lasted approximately 6 hours before recharging. The LCD, however, had a few dead pixels - never saw this before. Tried returning for exchange and had to put up quite a fight. Anyone else seen this? http://www.batteryfast.co.uk/
