Jamster, an affiliate of Jamba is one of the world's leading providers of mobile entertainment, offering a wide variety of products and services available directly via SMS text messages, mobile internet (WAP) or the internet. Mobile users from 35 territories on five continents are able to purchase from a huge selection of popular content from around the world, including branded content from News Corporation divisions; aggregated content from major media companies, including chart-topping ringtones from top music labels and mobile games from renowned game developers; and original content made exclusively for mobile phones. Jamster is a Joint Venture between News Corporation and VeriSign, Inc. and is headquartered in Beverly Hills, California, and Berlin, Germany.
This individual will support corporate development projects by developing complex financial models, analyses, and presentations and conducting other research and analysis as needed. He/she will work with senior executives in a challenging and fast paced environment. This position reports to the Executive Director, Corporate Development and Strategic Planning. Key areas of responsibilities will include: • Corporate strategy: Sr. Analyst will work with the Executive Director, Corporate Development and Strategic Planning to support processes related to strategic goals, innovations, project implementation, the annual budget and 3-year plan. He/she will help aggregate regular strategic updates and update the overall company roadmap. • Corporate development: Sr. Analyst will analyze opportunities to grow the overall business. He/she will evaluate new business and revenue opportunities (e.g., broad partnerships, new revenue streams, etc.), develop market sizing, project revenue, estimate costs and compare options. • Mergers and acquisitions: Sr. Analyst will support M&A activity for Jamster (e.g., evaluate companies, model financial projections, provide recommendations, etc.). He/she will track and create regular updates regarding potential M&A opportunities. • Research and analysis: Sr. Analyst will manage third party research relationships, evaluate new research tools/reports and track trends in the industry. He/she will create regular research updates to be distributed within the company. • Strategic analysis: Sr. Analyst will provide ad hoc support for strategic analysis projects for CEO as well as various departments. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical and quantitative skills, and be organized, focused, and extremely articulate, with the ability to interact confidently with Senior Management. • Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience, such as strategy consulting, strategic/business planning at a media company or investment banking/venture capital/private equity. • Must have strong strategic capabilities. • Expertise in financial analysis, modeling and deal making is essential and mobile experience is a plus.
