YouTube Launches Mobile Version, Online Video-Editing ToolAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on June 18, 2007 - 4:21pm.
San Bruno, Calif. - Google's YouTube quietly launched a new version of its service for mobile phones last week, in addition to an online video-editing tool on its site. YouTube Mobile streams video to cell phones in the data-intensive 3GP format, and the company warns that users should upgrade their mobile service to an unlimited data plan to avoid additional charges. The Remixer video application is similar to the Flash-based version of Adobe Premiere Express that was launched on recent MySpace acquisition Photobucket.
