Santa Clara, Calif. - PixSense, a provider of mobile media management and convergence infrastructure, software and services to wireless carriers, said on Tuesday that it has raised an undisclosed amount in a new round of funding, led by Qualcomm Ventures.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company said that it will use the funds to grow its corporate presence with wireless carriers.

PixSense utilizes media compression technology to reduce the file size of photos and videos up to 90%, optimizing network transmission and lowering operating costs for carriers.

"This strategic investment opens doors both on technology and business fronts for PixSense," said Faraz Hoodbhoy, the company's CEO.
