Chicago - Viewpoints.com, a provider of user-generated consumer product reviews and ratings, has raised $5 million in its first round of venture capital financing.

The investor group included the Illinois Innovation Accelerator, as well as individual investors Joe Mansueto, Michael Alter, Matt McCall, Lon Chow and J.B. Pritzker.

Chicago-based Viewpoints lets users create personal profiles and post ratings in categories such as movies, restaurants, education, health care and travel.
