Cupertino, Calif. - Apple announced on Wednesday that the previously announced "mystery application" for its iPhone will be one-touch access to Google's YouTube video-sharing site.

The "special YouTube player…can launch right from the home screen," Apple says on its iPhone site.

The announcement comes in the same week that both AT&T and YouTube launched mobile video services that won't be compatible with the iPhone, as they will run on faster 3G networks rather than the slower EDGE network used by the iPhone.

AT&T's new mobile video service will also allow for live video-sharing between users while they're on the phone with one another.
