Universal Music Group Distribution (UMGD) is seeking a Director of Marketing/Digital for the New York, NY office.
The Director of Marketing/Digital is responsible for creating and executing digital and mobile marketing campaigns in support of UMGD’s wholly-owned labels. The candidate must demonstrate considerable understanding of different musical genres and marketing of digital and mobile products. Responsibilities include: - Daily communication with labels to plot out marketing plan for digital and mobile releases, including singles, albums, mobile products, exclusives and more. - Work with digital and mobile retailers on marketing initiatives of all releases. - Work with account executives to prioritize releases for promotion. - Craft and implement new marketing initiatives to increase digital revenue across all assigned distribution outlets and storefronts. - Generate production presentation materials and getting partner marketing approvals for all label content activities. - Manage marketing reporting for labels on daily/weekly basis. - Develop large scale front line and catalog retail promotions to increase visibility and sales. - Research and report on the efficacy of promotions. - Manage the systems set-up and follow-through of digital product. - Work with UMGD Marketing department to support and tie digital marketing to physical CD sales initiatives. Requirements: - Solid experience in working with labels and retailers and setting up promotions - Good understanding of digital music technology, the online music environment, digital music sites and mobile carriers. - Good knowledge of distribution functions - Knowledge of the music market - Excellent computer skills (Powerpoint, Excel, and Word) - Excellent communication and relationship skills with all levels of executives, management, administrative staff. - Ability to troubleshoot and provide feedback, guidance and solutions for plans involving marketing, advertising and sales promotion. - Experience in managing projects.
