Gannett Leads $10 Million Round for Mobile Search Provider 4Info

Palo Alto, Calif. - Mobile search provider 4Info announced on Wednesday that it has raised $10 million in its fourth round of funding, led by USA Today publisher Gannett.

New investor Sand Hill Capital, and previous backers Draper Fisher Jurvetson and U.S. Venture Partners also participated.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based 4Info provides SMS-based mobile search and alert services, including free, ad-supported sports scores, 411, stock quotes and horoscopes. Customers include USA Today, TV Guide and Spark Networks.

The company will use the funds for product development and to expand its sales and distribution teams.
