London - U.K.-based marketing services firm Aegis Group announced on Monday that it has acquired the assets and contracts of the Internet ad-serving business of Bluestreak.com, for $12.5 million.

Under the deal, Aegis will acquire Providence, R.I.-based Bluestreak's proprietary ad-serving technology, which currently serves ads for clients in the U.S., U.K., France and Germany.

Following the acquisition, Bluestreak's ad-serving employees will be transferred into Aegis Group's Isobar unit, which provides a paid search bidding agent.

"While we will continue to work with other industry ad-servers, owning our own technology in-house will give us a step change in product development across both search and display," said Aegis CEO Robert Lerwill.
