AdHoc leverages Blinkx's patented speech-to-text transcription and visual analysis technology to analyze video content, and provide what the company says is more pertinent advertising against it.
The service allows for customizing the timing and appearance of video ads, with options that include pre-, post- and mid-roll placement, as well as dynamically-selected banners, in-video mini-banners and a unique, post-roll catalog view.
Separately, San Francisco-based Blinkx announced an agreement with RealNetworks, under which Blinkx will power video search for the new RealPlayer — further enhancing that application's ability to download most any Web video.
Blinkx said that it has also been chosen to power video search for InfoSpace's family of search sites, including Dogpile.com.
