Reston, Va. - comScore, a provider of Internet audience measurement services, said that Google widened its lead against competing search engines in May, capturing 50.7% of the market.
Google gained a full percentage point from the prior month to further outdistance Yahoo (26.4%), Microsoft (10.3%), Ask Network (5%) and Time Warner (4.6%).
comScore said that Americans conducted 7.6 billion searches online in May, up 11% compared with the prior year.
