The buzz about the iPhone is deafening. It seems like every blog is writing about it (including this one). One measure of the significant public interest in the iPhone is that the volume of US searches for the term “iphone” increased 583 percent in the past four weeks leading up to the June 29 launch date, according to Hitwise. Here is David Pogue of the New York Times in a video review of the gadget and the phenomenon that is iPhone:

The Apple iPhone website has been the number one website in the Computers and Internet - Electronics category - which lists websites focused on electronics products and electronics manufacturers - for the past three weeks starting with the week ending June 9, 2007, according to Hitwise. When it comes to demographics, 32.22 percent of visitors to the Apple iPhone website were from users between the ages of 18-24 years, comprising the largest age group of visitors to the site . More than 54 percent of users to the website had incomes between $30,000 and $99,999 and 51 percent were Male for that same time period.

Now, let's see what happens on Friday when this thing goes on sale. Will there be lines and fights betwen people trying to get hold of one? Will there be a shortage of supply? Will it flop? Seems unlikely, but you never know. Stay tuned to DMW for the latest.
