Contextual Video Ad Developer Digitalsmiths Raises $6 Million

Raleigh-Durham, N.C. - Digitalsmiths, a provider of broadband video contextual advertising technology, announced that it has raised $6 million in its first round of venture capital financing.

Aurora Funds, Chrysalis Ventures and individual investors participated in the round.

Founded in 1988, North Carolina-based Digitalsmiths provides video indexing and management tools to movie and TV studios, and recently launched VideoSense, its Internet video indexing and contextual ad-matching platform.

The company will use the funds for sales and marketing efforts, and to accelerate product development.
