Studios, Electronics Firms Team on Blu-ray Summer Promotion

Los Angeles - Seven Hollywood movie studios, along with six consumer electronics firms, announced on Thursday that they have teamed on a summer-long promotional program for the Blu-ray Disc format that will provide buyers of new Blu-ray players with five free Blu-ray movies. Disney, Lionsgate, MGM, Paramount, Sony Pictures, Fox and Warner, along with Panasonic, Philips, Pioneer, Samsung, Sony Electronics and Sony Computer Entertainment, will advertise the promotion both in print and online.
