Los Angeles - The National Basketball Association (NBA) this week signed a deal for broadcast rights that for the first time includes online and mobile rights, agreeing to an eight-year, $7.4 billion contract with Walt Disney's ABC and ESPN, and Time Warner's TNT, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Under the terms, the NBA granted the companies rights to about 200 games, which they may broadcast and make available on the Internet and mobile devices, while retaining digital rights to the remaining 1,000 regular season games.

ESPN, which told the Times that its NBA online video highlights were viewed 32 million times last season, said it will make live games available online at ESPN360.com, and on cell phones through ESPN Mobile TV.
