Enterprise Search Firm FAST Buys Recommendations Provider AgentArts

Needham, Mass. - Fast Search & Transfer (FAST), a provider of enterprise search technologies, announced that it has acquired AgentArts, a provider of recommendation and personalization software for music, video, games and mobile entertainment.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1999, San Francisco-based AgentArts offers its products to clients including Infospace Mobile and Australian telco Telstra.

FAST's enterprise search is used by over 2,600 customers, including AOL, CNET, Knight Ridder, Reuters and Vodafone.
