Alviso, Calif. - TiVo and partner Amazon.com said on Tuesday that TiVo users may now browse, purchase and rent movies from Amazon's Unbox video-on-demand service directly from their televisions, without the need for a PC.

Previously, consumers would first have to conduct a transaction on the Unbox website from a PC, with the video content then transferred to their TiVo box.

The new feature is available to owners of Series 2 and Series 3 TiVo set-tops who have connected their digital video recorders to their home networks.

Amazon Unbox on TiVo charges between $1.99 and $3.99 to rent movies; $1.99 per episode to purchase TV shows; and between $9.99 and $14.99 to purchase movies.
