Los Angeles - Microsoft announced on Wednesday that it plans to release a special edition of its Xbox 360 video game console in conjunction with the release of its "Halo 3" game in September.

The green Xbox 360 Halo 3 Special Edition console will feature a 20G hard drive, and matching green controllers.

The company also announced that its Xbox Live online gaming service now counts over 7 million users, a number it expects to grow to 10 million in a year's time.

Gamers have so far downloaded over 45 million games from its Xbox Live Arcade service, which Microsoft said will offer 100 titles by the end of this year.
