Seattle - Casual games developer and publisher PopCap Games announced on Thursday that it has acquired Retro64, a developer of retro-arcade style action and puzzle games.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Chicago-based Retro64 will become a satellite development studio for Seattle-based PopCap, managed by Retro64 founder and chief producer Mike Boeh.

PopCap said its games for the Web, PC, consoles, mobile and in-flight systems -- which include the popular title "Bejeweled" -- have been downloaded more than 200 million times.
