Support all strategic development efforts within the wireless category. Act as a strategic category champion, driving the development of new wireless business ideas that will help NBCU scale its emerging mobile efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years experience working in the mobile industry with a strong understanding of mobile products, technology and industry segments. Including financial planning and strategy. RESPONSIBILITIES: Support all strategic development efforts within the wireless category. Act as a strategic category champion, driving the development of new wireless business ideas that will help NBCU scale its emerging mobile efforts. * Provide financial and strategic guidance to the digital distribution team by identifying attractive product, consumer and market segments, and providing actionable recommendations. * Work with product development and technology teams to provide financial guidance for new products, providing metrics and benchmarks to support new product greenlight (and shut-down) decisions. * Develop a mobile "dashboard" to track and analyze technology, competitor, carrier, VC and distributor trends within the wireless sector. Support Digital Media's evolving view of the mobile industry. Develop a financial framework to support and expand the growth of NBCU's presence in the mobile industry. * Work with the NBCU/GE investment fund and business development to identify and pitch potential investment and acquisition targets. Assist in the development of financial models to support acquisitions and investments. * Develop business plans and financial models for new, "greenfield" strategic opportunities (eg: direct to consumer) * Work closely with the NBCU Technology Growth Center to assist in identifying areas for long-cycle growth (eg: mobile TV spectrum auctions, R&D, etc) DESIRED: Strategic, financial and communications skills, with a strong "executive presence." High degree of analytical capability, including an ability to analyze new business potential in financial terms Experience in successfully pitching business development ideas to senior management.
