Burbank, Calif. - Disney Interactive Studios announced on Friday that it has acquired Austin-based game development studio Junction Point Studios, which is headed by game industry veteran Warren Spector.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Junction Point Studios will both create new video game franchises and will bring some of Disney's franchises to next-generation platforms.

The studio is currently working on a yet to be announced next-generation development project.
