Chinese Video-Sharing Site Tudou Raises $19 Million

Shanghai - Chinese online video-sharing site Tudou.com announced on Monday that it has raised $19 million in its third round of venture capital financing, co-led by Capital Today and General Catalyst Partners.

Previous investors Granite Global, IDG China, JAFCO Asia, KTB Ventures and JAIC also participated.

Shanghai-based Tudou said it streams more than 1.2 billion videos each month, and accounts for over half of all online video-sharing in China, according to iResearch.

The company today also announced the launch of an advertising platform, which will enable advertisers including Adidas, Ford, Motorola and Pepsi to incorporate brand advertising into Tudou videos.
