Los Angeles - Electronics and media retailer Best Buy has partnered with RealNetworks to create a branded version of its Rhapsody digital music service, to replace a similar co-branded service created with Napster, Variety reported.
A Napster spokesman told Variety both companies agreed not to renew their deal when it expired several months ago.
The Best Buy-branded version of Rhapsody will be promoted in-store and on the retailer's website.
Best Buy will continue to sell gift cards for competing stores including iTunes and eMusic, but not for Napster.
