Seattle - Oberon Media, a publisher of casual online and mobile games, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired PixelPlay, a developer and distributor of interactive TV games.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2002, New York-based PixelPlay has developed hundreds of interactive TV games based on franchises from Atari, Hasbro and many casual games publishers, for providers such as Cablevision, EchoStar, DirecTV and Bell ExpressVu.

New York-based Oberon, which also recently acquired casual mobile games firm I-play, said the deal will allow game developers and advertisers to launch their games and interactive campaigns, respectively, across online, mobile and interactive TV platforms.
