Nashville - SESAC, the performing rights organization, has signed a licensing agreement with News Corp.'s MySpace social network, giving the site full access to SESAC's entire repertory. The deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, is retroactive to the founding of MySpace. "This important licensing agreement not only ensures that SESAC's songwriters will be compensated for their MySpace performances, but it is also an important step in creating a robust online marketplace that demonstrates respect and value for intellectual property," said SESAC president Pat Collins.
