San Francisco - Ujogo, a provider of free, rewards-based online games, said on Thursday that it has raised an undisclosed amount of funding in its first round and launched the beta version of its new online poker site for U.S. players.

The company, which launched last year, said that participants in the round included "angel investors, including prominent venture and public equity investors."

Separately, the company said that it has acquired Gaming Everywhere, a developer of multi-player games software for Web browsers and mobile devices.

Terms of that deal also were not disclosed.

San Francisco-based Ujogo said that its new site includes rewards for winning play, rich graphics, educational and training tools to help players improve and social networking tools to promote player interaction.

All players, regardless of skill level, accumulate points, which can be redeemed at the company store for merchandise.
