San Mateo, Calif. - MotionDSP, a developer of video enhancement technology, announced on Tuesday that it has received an undisclosed investment from In-Q-Tel, an investment firm that identifies innovative technology solutions to support the mission of the CIA and broader U.S. intelligence community.

San Mateo, Calif.-based MotionDSP's technology can be used by mobile carriers and Internet video sites to improve the quality of video captured by consumer video devices like mobile phones and webcams.

The company also markets its Ikena Workstation video forensic tool to the security market. As part of the deal, MotionDSP also signed a technology advancement agreement with In-Q-Tel.

"MotionDSP's digital video technology has proven itself to be the gold standard in both quality and scalability, and will radically enhance the way any organization -- commercial or government -- processes video images," said Troy M. Pearsall, executive vice president of technology transfer at In-Q-Tel.
