Espoo, Finland - Finnish cell phone maker Nokia announced on Tuesday that it has acquired Twango, the provider of a media sharing service for photos, videos and other personal media across desktop and mobile devices.
While financial terms were not disclosed, The Wall Street Journal cited "a person familiar with the matter" who said the purchase price was less than $97 million.
Nokia said its purchase of Redmond, Wash.-based Twango, which was founded in 2004 by former Microsoft senior managers, is in line with its strategy of providing access to information, entertainment and social networks from any connected device.
