Mobile Device Software Firm Action Engine Raises $20 Million

Bellevue, Wash. - Action Engine, a developer of mobile on-device portal applications, announced on Monday that it has raised $20 million in its latest round of venture capital financing, led by Baker Capital.

Previous investors Northwest Venture Associates and The Spangler Group also participated in the round, which brings the company's total funding raised to date to $65 million.

Bellevue, Wash.-based Action Engine develops mobile device software that can be used by media companies and mobile operators to make content like music, video and city guides easier to find and use.

Customers include MSNBC.com, TiVo, Sprint and Verizon.

The company will use the funds to accelerate its sales, marketing and distribution efforts.
