National Archives Taps Amazon's CustomFlix for On-Demand DVDs

Scotts Valley, Calif. - Amazon.com's CustomFlix on-demand DVD service said on Monday that it has partnered with the National Archives and Records Administration, to make thousands of historic films from the National Archives available for purchase on Amazon.com. The Archives holds more than 20,000 motion picture titles; its collection of Universal Newsreels from 1920 to 1967 will comprise the initial offering through CustomFlix DVD on Demand. Thousands of public domain films and other U.S. Defense Department and U.S. Information Agency titles will be added in the near future.
