San Antonio, Texas - AT&T on Tuesday announced the launch of an over-the-air mobile music download service in partnership with eMusic, a digital retailer of independent music with a catalog of 2.7 million songs.

The eMusic Mobile service will charge $7.49 for five tracks per month in MP3 format -- including a second copy for download to a PC -- with additional five-song packages available on demand.

The service will initially be available to AT&T's 63.7 million subscribers on handsets including the Samsung a717, a727 and SYNC, and the Nokia N75.

AT&T also offers a mobile music service from Napster.
