New York - MyDamnChannel on Tuesday announced the launch of its ad-supported online entertainment portal and initial funding from Okapi Venture Capital.

The site will sign artists to episodic series deals, and initially feature content from partners including comedian Harry Shearer ("The Simpsons," "This is Spinal Tap"); music producer Don Was; indie filmmaker David Wain ("Wet Hot American Summer"); and MTV personality Andy Milonakis.

The company was founded by Rob Barnett, a former executive at MTV and VH1 and most recently president of programming for CBS Radio.

MyDamnChannel said its programming will also be distributed to online communities and social networks; the company already signed a syndication deal with YouTube.

The company will also produce original promotional video spots for MyDamnChannel programs, which will run on syndication partners' sites.
