NYC's Primedia Division Completes Sale of Enthusiast Media Unit

New York - Source Interlink, a Florida-based provider of merchandising and fulfillment services for home entertainment products, has completed its acquisition of New York-based publisher Primedia's Enthusiast Media division, comprising over 70 magazines and 90 websites, for $1.2 billion. Source Interlink serves around 110,000 retail store locations throughout North America, for customers including movie studios, record labels, and magazine and newspaper publishers. Primedia's Enthusiast Media division publishes titles including Motor Trend, Soap Opera Digest, Surfer and Snowboarder, and saw revenues of $525 million in 2006. Source Interlink said the purchase will create a "leading vertically integrated media, publishing, merchandising and distribution company."
