London - NDS, a unit of News Corp. that provides technology and services to digital TV providers, announced on Tuesday that it has acquired CastUp, a provider of technology for delivering video over the Internet, for $11.3 million in cash.

Customers of Israel-based CastUp's services, which include acquisition, processing, distributing, serving and monetizing of Internet audio and video, include HP, Amdocs, MTV and Blockbuster.

NDS said the acquisition will enable it to provide its digital TV customers to expand their broadband video distribution services.

CastUp will continue to operate under its current management team as a separate unit within NDS.
