Los Angeles - NBC Universal's USA cable TV network plans early next year to launch an ad showcase video site that will feature both "classic" and recent TV ads, movie trailers and other content, Variety reported.

"Didja.com is the logical next step in the changing dynamic between consumers and advertisers," Bonnie Hammer, a spokeswoman for USA-Sci Fi Channel, told Variety.

"There's no doubt that commercials are major drivers of pop culture -- all you have to do is check out traffic on any video-sharing site. We want to own that watercooler conversation."

The site will launch after the roll-out of NBCU-News Corp.'s planned video content site joint venture.

The company said it may charge advertisers for prominent placement on Didja, and is currently seeking charter sponsors. The site will initially be promoted on USA, and eventually on other NBC Universal properties.
