Lawrenceville, N.J. - Sonicbids, a site that lets talent buyers review band submissions online, has received a $4.5 million investment from Edison Venture Fund.

Launched in 2002, Boston-based Sonicbids lets bands submit their press kits electronically to festivals, clubs, events and other performance opportunities.

The company says 120,000 bands from 100 countries use the site, along with over 10,000 music promoters; Sonicbids claims to have facilitated 30,000 deals through its service.

The funds will be used to expand operations, development, marketing, sales and the company's international presence.
