Beijing - China's CDC Games, a publisher of online multiplayer games, on Tuesday announced it has invested an undisclosed sum in Xiakexing Network Technologies (XNet), a developer of online games and game technologies.

As part of the deal, CDC Games will have exclusive global distribution rights for all games developed by XNet.

XNet was selected by the Beijing government to create a Virtual Olympic Museum using 3D virtual reality technology for 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and is also developing 3D simulation software for the opening and closing ceremonies of the games.

CDC Games will serve as the global publishing platform for these online properties associated with the Beijing Olympics.
