San Francisco - Doppelganger Inc., the developer of a youth-targeted online virtual world focused on music, fashion and entertainment, announced on Tuesday that it has raised $11 million in a new round of funding, led by new investor ComVentures.

Previous backers Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Trident Capital, Draper Richards, KPG Ventures and Greycroft Partners also participated in the round, which brings the company's total funding to date to $25 million.

San Francisco-based Doppelganger's vSide virtual world features city neighborhoods with public clubs and stores, personal apartments and other locations where users can mingle, pursue careers and stage events.

The company will use the funds to accelerate growth of the business, and expand relationships with strategic media partners and brands.
