AOL Launches Rebuilt Truveo.com Video Search SiteAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on August 16, 2007 - 2:45pm.
Dulles, Va. - AOL said on Thursday that it has launched a new version of video site Truveo.com. The company, which acquired Truveo over a year ago, said that it has completely rebuilt the site, which features both user-generated clips and professionally produced content. In an attempt to avoid the kinds of copyright issues that have plagued sites like Google's YouTube in recent months, AOL said that Truveo.com in many cases will direct users to content owners' sites to view videos. Truveo also powers video search tools for AOL's properties, as well as Microsoft, CNET's Search.com, Excite and numerous other sites.
