San Francisco - Zivity, a social network for models, photographers and "fans of female pin-up photography," announced on Friday that it has raised $1 million in its first round of venture capital financing, from private investors.

San Francisco-based Zivity's site, which is set to launch a private beta in the third quarter, lets users submit adult photos, while members vote to determine which are published on the site.

Royalties are then distributed to models and photographers, based on the popularity of the photos.

"We realize there is an unmet need for a community where members can enjoy sexy content without the mixed age crowd," said Cyan Banister, Zivity co-founder and chief strategy officer.

"While MySpace is known for finding new musicians, Zivity is a place where models and photographers will be discovered."
