Game Developer Foundation 9 Acquires U.K.-based Sumo Digital

Newport Beach, Calif. - Video game developer and publisher Foundation 9 Entertainment announced on Friday that it will acquire U.K.-based developer Sumo Digital.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2003, Sumo -- which also maintains a development studio in India -- has developed titles including "Virtua Tennis 3," "Super Rub 'a' Dub" and "Outrun 2006: Coast to Coast," and is currently working on titles for a number of publishers.

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Foundation 9 Entertainment's other studios, which are currently at work on more than 20 titles, include Amaze Entertainment, Backbone Entertainment, The Collective, Digital Eclipse, ImaginEngine, Pipeworks and Shiny Entertainment.
