Washington - Post-Newsweek Stations, the television broadcasting unit of The Washington Post Co., has invested an undisclosed sum in LATV Networks, the Los Angeles-based developer of a bilingual music and entertainment network.

The company, which previously had signed a deal to multicast the network on a digital channel at four of its six stations, now holds a minority stake in LATV, as well as a seat on its board of directors.

Danny Crowe, the president of LATV, said that the investment "strengthens our national position" as the network continues to expand into the top 40 Hispanic markets in the country.

LATV's national rollout began with Post-Newsweek affiliates in Houston, Miami, Orlando and San Antonio. The network is multicast on these stations' digital spectrum as a standard-definition channel.
